About Murray

Murray HVAC started in business in 1948 as Murray Oil Co. The company was originally an oil delivery company and delivered oil to homes on the North Shore. Dick Murray was the owner of the company. He realized that he was losing customers when they had a service problem because he did not have a service department. He talked to Harold Brainerd who was the service manager for Braun Brothers Oil (the largest oil delivery company on the North Shore) about becoming a partner. Harold agreed and Murray Heating Service was born.
Murray Heating serviced and installed heating systems and some of the first air conditioning systems on the North Shore. Dick Murray unfortunately passed away and Harold Brainerd became the sole owner. Murray continued to grow and serve some of the largest homes and businesses on the North Shore. A lot of these homes had special heating and cooling systems that were complicated and difficult to service. Harold had the ability to solve the difficult problems and many customers were gained from the inability of others to solve these problems.
In 1967, I started working at Murray. I worked in all parts of the company and learned a lot from my father. I also have gained many customers by solving problems other companies couldn't solve. My father taught me well. Harold retired from Murray in 1991. He is still alive and well living in Florida.
I still run service calls and back up our technicians on difficult jobs. Murray HVAC is a family owned company. My daughter Shannon answers phones and runs the office. We have a large base of long time customers and welcome new ones too!

      Sincerely,
      Dennis H. Brainerd
